Sai Leela-369 - My Sai - My Everthing

I came overseas with a decade of work experience and I was unable to get into a relevant role. I was doing a survival job for 6 months following 6 months of unemployment. But the company I was working for was totally relevant to my field of work and I was trying to reach out to the right person to ask for an internal movement. Like we all know, it’s only Sai Who decides when what must come to us. He exactly sent the right people to me at the right time, who worked in conjunction to get me a relevant job. Sai came in 4 different forms - as my colleagues in the organisation. Firstly my friend, who sent my resume internally to a senior at the organisation who was well-connected. Not just that, but she was always reassuring me that something better was on the way in my career.

Second - My present Manager, who was extremely supportive in my request and search - in my internal movement process.

Third- The Senior at the Organisation who really took his time out to talk to two different Hiring Managers for two different roles.

Fourth – My new Manager, who reached out to me and offered an entry level role but in my relevant field.

I was reaching saturation and I had 6 months’ timeline in my mind and wished that I could move on to something more relevant. As it was close to 6 months’ timeline, my anxiety, frustration, expectations, various other parallel problems started to take a toll on me.

I have always tried my best to visit Sai temple every Thursday. I am doing this for around 5 years now. The Thursday visits has always been for various reasons – gratification, prayer request or just meet my beloved Sai and be elated. But this time, my frustration led to making an affirmation that, I told Sai I will visit Your temple on Thursdays, only after I hear something about a relevant job. And weeks passed. During this time, I had attended 2 interviews with 2 different teams and one of the openings was exactly what I did in the past. It was a mid-senior level and I wished I get that role. It would help me financially and career-wise too. The other one was an entry-level role, but at this point I was open for either of it. I followed up with the Hiring Manger multiple times and attended round 2 of the interview as well. But there was no response at all. And weeks passed.

I didn’t visit the temple for 5 weeks, I think. On the 5th week, I was genuinely upset that Sai didn’t allow me to visit Him. But at the same time, my intermediate resolution was not letting me go to the temple. I was contemplating on why not just go to the temple and fight with Him. But I was also thinking that I have been patient and continue to have immense faith in Him and I also felt my request was modest. I was patiently waiting for Him to bless me, as I was finding it not-very-easy to survive with what I was earning, and I had to manage my family with that income. When the 6th Thursday was around, I think on Tuesday that week, I got to know that one of the Hiring Managers’ wqas going to process the offer and reach out to me for the next steps. I was feeling blessed that I was at least getting a break-through to a relevant role.

I had a small wish that she offers me the role before Thursday so that I can go running to my Baba’s feet. Another small wish within was, if I receive the offer letter, I can take it with me to place it at His feet. After all, it’s what He has given me. But I wasn’t sure if I would receive the offer letter within such a short time and I had almost 3 weeks to start in the new role. To my utter surprise, my new Manager met me on Wednesday and gave me a copy of the offer letter and mentioned that I could sign it too and return it the same day as she was not available on the next day. As per Sai’s plan, I had the signed offer letter in my hand on Wednesday and with absolute gratitude, humility and immense faith reassured, I went to see my Baba on Thursday at the temple. All the time when He was testing me, I was reassuring myself that He is always there with me, but I still wanted to devote that time every Thursday solely for Him at his mandir. Thank You Baba…. Actually the word ‘Thank You’ is an understatement. He is my everything. And only He knows what is best for me and for all of us. Om Sri Sairam.
